Code of Conduct

The Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence (CoRE) is a new Crown corporation established by the Alberta government that empowers decision-makers with data and the best possible evidence to support people with mental illness or addiction in their pursuit of recovery.

The Board developed this Code of Conduct to guide the actions of the corporation as CoRE strives to fulfill its mission and achieve its objectives.

Compensation Disclosure

In keeping with Government of Alberta policy and the Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act, CoRE discloses expenses of the chair, board members, and chief executive officer, and all remuneration, including severance and pension contributions, for its board members and staff whose earnings were more than the compensation threshold.

Expense Disclosure

In keeping with Government of Alberta policy, CoRE has chosen to disclose quarterly expenses of its Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.

CoRE adheres to a comprehensive disclosure policy on travel, accommodation, meals, working sessions and hospitality expenses.

CoRE is not subject to the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST). Expenses claimed by employees may include GST. CoRE receives reimbursement of GST where applicable from the federal government.

The Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence Act, 2024 (formerly Bill 17) is the next step to strengthen Alberta’s mental health and addiction system and support the Alberta Recovery Model.
